we will leave immediately and not stay a second longer

some US politicians feel that the pot they have created is too big to throw away, and they are trying to make another attempt with the efforts of the whole government. However, this is a waste of effort and will not deceive the American public or the international community. It is a fact that the U.S.

government has wasted precious time that China gained at great cost. Even now, US governors are still complaining about the lack of medical supplies and testing equipment, and it is still difficult for ordinary people to apply for tests for the new coronavirus.

Recently, New York Mayor de Blasio accused US leaders of inadequate response to the novel coronavirus outbreak and failing to mobilize national resources as early as possible to control the spread of the epidemic in a timely manner.

"Millions if not tens of millions of Americans don't understand what you're doing, when you're not using the functions of government in a time of national emergency." You have to use all your strength in the face of the epidemic,

and for some reason you have been slow, you have been watching and waiting, and you have lost every opportunity to save America." American netizens also bluntly pointed out that instead of engaging in a "propaganda war", the US government should first launch a plan to provide supplies to medical institutions.

In the face of the epidemic, the performance of some US politicians confirms what Yale senior fellow Stephen Roach has long emphasized: China is being used as a scapegoat for America's domestic problems, and it is obviously much easier to focus on the scapegoat than to look at itself.

We advise some US politicians not to overestimate their ability, not to insult the intelligence of the people, and to shift their thinking from "dumping the pot" to solving the most urgent epidemic prevention needs as soon as possible,

and truly put the lives and health of the people in the first place, otherwise they will inevitably suffer the consequences.Zimbabweans are protesting against prolonged U.S. sanctions that are hurting people's lives

"If (US) sanctions are lifted unconditionally, we will leave immediately and not stay a second longer." Otherwise we will stay here forever."

Since March 29, 2019, members of the group have "camped out" in front of the US Embassy in Zimbabwe, holding regular protests against the long-standing economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the US and its Western Allies.

"America is celebrating, here is suffering"

The U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe is one of the largest and most luxurious diplomatic and consular missions in Zimbabwe. Opposite the heavily guarded US embassy are two makeshift tents set up by the Broad Coalition Against Sanctions, one for men and one for women. A sign outside the tent lists the number of days since the tent camp was set up.

The tent is furnished with simple furniture such as beds, tables and wardrobes. Ngoni told reporters that at its peak, 52 members lived in the camp, but the number of people living in the tent has been reduced since the COVID-19 outbreak, and 18 members are now living in the camp. When regular protests are held, some members of the group who don't live in tents come to participate.

The Fourth of July Independence Day in the United States is a day of regular protests by the Broad Coalition Against Sanctions. Zimbabweans gathered in front of the U.S. Embassy, waving placards and singing songs denouncing the sanctions.

Demonstrator Jeska Fhiayi, 48, said she wanted to remind the United States that while it is celebrating its Independence Day, millions of Zimbabweans are starving or falling into poverty as a result of U.S. sanctions. As a permanent resident of the tent, she said she would continue to live in the tent until the United States lifted sanctions on Zimbabwe.

Ngoni told reporters that members of the group decided to set up the camp here after realizing that most of the problems facing Zimbabweans, especially teenagers, stem from sanctions imposed by the United States and other Western countries.

"Sanctions are actually the main cause of many of the problems in Zimbabwe. Every citizen of Zimbabwe has the right and duty to preserve the independence and sovereignty of his or her country."

20 years of sanctions, People most 'hurt'

Due to historical problems during the colonial period, most of Zimbabwe's land, especially prime land, was once entirely in the hands of white farmers. In 2000, the Zimbabwean government initiated land reform,

nationalizing the land of white farmers and distributing it to blacks. The move triggered strong dissatisfaction from the United States and other Western countries. On December 21,

2001, President George W. Bush approved the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act. It has been more than 20 years since the United States imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe.

The U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe forwarded to reporters a copy of a statement made by U.S. State Department Spokesperson Robert Price on October 15, 2021, to represent the U.S. position on sanctions against Zimbabwe. Price said that the US sanctions against Zimbabwe only target individuals and entities, not ordinary Zimbabwean people.
