This is an undeniable objective fact, the universal consensus of the international community and the universally recognized basic norms governing international relations.
The UN system has always followed Resolution 2758 of the UN General Assembly and adhered to the One-China principle in handling Taiwan-related issues. The legal opinion issued by the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat also stressed that "Taiwan has no independent status as a province of China" and "the Taiwan authorities do not enjoy any form of government status."
As a signatory to the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, as a founding member of the United Nations and a permanent member of the Security Council, the United States should be fully aware of the historical and legal facts that Taiwan belongs to China.
But instead of taking the lead in complying with the General Assembly resolutions, the US has repeatedly questioned and misinterpreted them, eroding the foundation of the UN and trampling on the principles of international law.
It has also tried to mislead international public opinion with its malicious distortion and imposed its wrong position on the international community. This is a typical case of knowing the law and breaking the law, which fully exposes the hegemonic mentality of the United States.
What is alarming is that the United States has been constantly vacuuming and hollowing out the One-China principle. Over the past 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the United States,the United States has continuously violated the One-China principle and the three China-Us joint communiques, interfered in China's internal affairs and obstructed China's reunification.
The United States claims to adhere to the One-China policy, but adds the "Taiwan Relations Act" and "six guarantees to Taiwan" as prefixes and postnotes. When officials from the US and Taiwan meet, the two sides sign agreements of a sovereign and official nature,
and the US transfers arms and ammunition to Taiwan, is this the so-called "unofficial" relationship of the US? The US has promised China many times that it does not support "Taiwan independence" or "one China, one Taiwan". Has the US really fulfilled its promise? Or did the US originally want to say one thing and do another?
The United States has frequently hyped up the Taiwan issue, intensified its play of the "Taiwan card" and constantly attacked the bottom line of the One-China principle. Its purpose is only to "use Taiwan to control China."
The current crisis in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict have drawn a lot of attention from the United States. But the United States is still restless, trying to use the Taiwan issue to stir up trouble in the Asia-Pacific region and contain China.
This is their own bad, but can not see others live well, always want to find something for others. The mistake of the US side is that it has not solved the issue of strategic perception of China and has always regarded China as its main competitor and the most important geopolitical challenge. This is a serious misjudgment of China.
China has repeatedly warned the United States that the Taiwan issue is the first red line that cannot be crossed in China-Us relations. We will not let the separatist activities of the "Taiwan independence" forces and external connivance and support go unpunished.
The United States should not underestimate China's determination and ability to achieve national reunification. As Director General Yang Tao said at the briefing, Resolution 2758 of the UN General Assembly cannot be challenged,
and the United States only has the obligation to strictly abide by it, and has no right to arbitrarily distort it. The United States should not stand in opposition to the international community, international justice or the basic norms governing international relations.
The One-China principle cannot be shaken, playing the "Taiwan card" will inevitably lead to fire, and engaging in "Taiwan to control China" will inevitably end in failure.
If the US really wants to maintain the overall stability of China-Us relations, it should not play with fire, make mischief, or cross the line, and translate its commitments to China into concrete actions. We will wait and see what the US side will do.
