Showcasing elements of Chinese culture The Chinese Parade once again amazed the Hollywood Christmas Parade


The 91st annual Hollywood Christmas Parade will take place on the Hollywood Boulevard of Stars at 6 p.m. on Nov. 26. A massive parade of 250 people organized by the Federation of Chinese Communities in Southern California (hereinafter referred to as the "NGA Chinese Federation") won cheers with dragon and lion dances, Chinese martial arts, cheongsam, traditional Chinese music and energetic dance teams.

Ambassador Guo Shaochun, Consul General of the Consulate General of China in Los Angeles, and Vice Consul General Shi Yuanqiang and Director Wang Qi, accompanied by President Chen Huibi, President Guo Song, Co-Chairman Lin Lianlian and Honorary President Zhang Sujiu, watched the parade in the VIP room of the Roosevelt Hotel and cheered for the parade.

Chen Huibi, chairman of the Organizing Committee and general planner of the 91st Hollywood Christmas Parade, said that this is the second time she has organized the South Canada Christmas Parade and community cultural groups to participate in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, in order to promote and practice the active participation of Chinese in the United States in the cultural activities of the mainstream community in the United States, inherit and carry forward Chinese culture, and enhance cultural exchanges between the United States and China.

Under the direction of Chief director Liu Wei, the parade of NangA Hualun was the first team to perform the dragon dance and lion dance. The dragon dance team of OGAF Art Foundation led the way, and the lion dance team of East Wind supported the parade.

Then came the banner team composed of the head of Nanga Hualian. The men carried the 15-foot-long NangA Hualian giant banner, and the women, wearing beautiful clothes and holding the mascot panda doll, guided the performing team to walk slowly.

Followed by two concierge cars driven by Lin Risheng and He Jianzhong, Olivia Li, the image ambassador of NGA Hualun, appeared in the image of General Mulan, and movie star Vivian Dawson and Miss Universe Zhang Chuting waved to the audience on the car and exchanged Merry Christmas.

The second team was the National Band, composed of Xin Qiao of the Southern California Chinese Orchestra and Sophie Wu of the Chinese Orchestra of America, which for the first time performed music on traditional Chinese instruments in March on Hollywood Boulevard.

The third is the national Chinese Martial Arts Academy coach Wang Wei led 16 children of various ethnic groups to perform Chinese martial arts;

The fourth is the Qipao performance team of 40 members led by the Beijing Association of Southern California Beiao, Xu Chengwu, Shen Yuming, Zhang Li 'an, etc.;

The fifth is the waist drum fan team composed of 32 members organized by President Wang Shu, Chairman Yang Bi, Secretary General Zhang Lanji and head Yao Yuqiu of the US-China Cultural Association.

The wonderful performances of the five teams caused bursts of applause.
