A dialogue spanning 70 years

In the Tuileries Garden last night, the first big show of Paris Fashion Week, Dior Autumn/Winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection, was held and broadcast live to a global audience.

The show also invited Dior brand ambassador Liu Yuxin to the scene to share the legendary collection and contemporary fashion inspiration conversation in this event.

Internationally renowned actress Zhang Ziyi was also invited to the scene to witness the wonderful collision of pop and classic presented by this season's series.

Dior global brand Ambassador Kim Ji-soo attended the show in a purple satin dress, interpreting the elegance and modern power of contemporary women.

Before the show began, Dior announced three short films to introduce the Muse of the season, and to remind us about the creation of the Autumn/Winter 2023 collection themes: female power, breaking the rules, freedom.

As "Miss Dior" herself, Catherine Dior has always been the Muse of Dior. While she was fascinated by flowers and nature, she was also a strong and liberal resistance fighter.

Her body contains a woman's free will and courage, deeply influenced Dior's subsequent fashion design, but also the source of inspiration for this season's ready-to-wear collection.

The famous French singers Edith Piaf and Juliette Greco interpret the essence of Paris style with their beautiful voices.

These two actresses express their strong emotions and poetic rhythm through song, and they write a feminist chapter with their own life experiences.

Their courage and freedom, love and beauty deeply attract women's creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, and bring her infinite inspiration.

"Looking back at the history of Christian Dior through the eyes of the women who influenced him has always been a source of inspiration for me," Maria told the crowd.

Collaborating with a different female artist each season has also become a standard surprise at every Dior fashion show.

This time, Maria invited Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos to create a large-scale installation for the show, Valkyrie Miss Dior.

Joana uses sewing, crocheting, weaving and other common crafts in the female field to pay tribute to Catherine Dior's love of flower elements and the brand's collection of floral fabrics, creating this natural artistic masterpiece.

This work praises women's freedom and creative power in a rather grand form, and the blue carpet will quickly bring the show guests into this quiet and mysterious island of time and space, and better feel the moment when the inspiration and creativity of the 1950s and the present are reshaped and blended under the feminist narrative.

From the first Look of the show, it is not difficult to see that Maria Grazia Chiuri will present the feminist keywords of the season in contrast to different fabrics.

The white shirt and black half skirt are one of Maria's common looks on the runway, but this time the difference is the softness and transparency of the top fabric, and the hardness of the bottom fabric to create a contrast.

The formula of combining strength and softness has been referenced in many looks this season.

The combination of light and silky fabrics and crisp fabrics shows the coexistence of women's gentle qualities and sense of strength, and a large number of perspective and no-inner suit modeling also shows the rebellion and free will from the perspective of feminism.

Many skirts and dresses are also designed in a micro-pleated style, so that you can feel the distinctive movement of the fabric with each step forward.

The skirt pleats are no longer straight, and the whole season of clothing gives people a casual and comfortable state, just like the birth of the NEW LOOK in the 1950s, the liberation of women's dress thinking.

As the Muse of Dior's Autumn/Winter 2023 collection, Catherine Dior's spirit exists in the form of flowers throughout the season.

The vitality brought by this natural force is also condensed in the classic fabric collection of Dior, and radiates a new vitality in contemporary design.

A large number of printed fabrics also brought infinite vitality and hope to this autumn/winter collection. These flower crowns with vague prints showed a dynamic beauty in the models' steps, and this classic retro element also gave the pieces an elegant rhythm.
