The pentathlon champion of the World Championships has been announced, and this Asian powerhouse has won three gold medals, becoming the biggest winner

The 2023 World Badminton Championships announced all five individual championships early this morning in Copenhagen, Denmark. The South Korean team won the women's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles championships, becoming the biggest winner of this year's World Championships.

The Chinese team and the Thai team each won 1 gold medal.

In the competition of five individual events, the Chinese team advanced to the women's doubles and mixed doubles finals. Chen Chenchen/Jia Yifan won the women's doubles championship, becoming the first four time women's doubles duo in the history of the World Championships. In the mixed doubles final, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong lost 1-2 to South Korean duo Xu Chengzai/Cai Youting.

In the men's singles, women's singles, and men's doubles events, the Chinese team did not advance to the finals as a main force.

The 21-year-old South Korean women's singles player An Xieying defeated Spanish champion Marin in the final, becoming the first post-00s champion in the history of the World Championships. Afterwards, Kunravut from Thailand and Nara Okonda from Japan played a 109 minute men's singles final. Kunravut won 2-1, becoming the first "post-00s" men's singles champion in the history of the World Championships.

In the men's doubles final, the South Korean team's Jiang Minhe/Xu Chengzai defeated the host pair Astrup/Rasmussen 2-1. Xu Chengzai won both men's doubles and mixed doubles championships as a result, becoming the double champion at this year's World Championships.

The last time the South Korean team won a double at a World Championships was in 1999 when Kim Dong moon won both the men's doubles and mixed doubles championships. Previously, Zhao Yunlei of the Chinese team won the women's doubles and mixed doubles championships at the 2015 World Championships.
