Two Fujian generals advanced to the top 16! The 2022 Badminton World Championships officially kick off

In the first round of women's singles, Fujian player Han Yue, who is currently ranked 22nd in the world, won two straight sets, defeating French player Qi Xuefei, who is ranked 43rd in the world, with a score of 21-14 and 21-15. Due to the withdrawal of Indian star Sindu in the next round, Han Yue directly advanced to the women's singles round of 16.

In the mixed doubles competition, Huang Dongping and her partner were eliminated in the first round and faced Malaysia's Chen Tangjie/Bai Yanwei in the second round. At this year's World Championships, the Yellow Duck duo defeated their opponents 2-0. After the opening, the Yellow Duck combination entered a faster state, and they started with a score of 6-1.

After the Malaysian combination attempted to counterattack, Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping counterattacked to maintain their lead, and they controlled the situation to take the lead 21-14. In the second round, Chen Tangjie/Bai Yanwei took the lead with 3 points, while Wang Yilu/Huang Dongping quickly countered and equalized.

After 5 draws, the Malaysian team launched an offensive and scored 5 points in a row, then they held the lead and pulled back a game with a score of 21-12.

After the decisive game began, Wang Yilu and Huang Dongping had a complete advantage, and they started with an 11-2 score. After Yi Bian, the Yellow Duck combination continued to expand their advantage, and the Malaysian combination couldn't even catch up with 7 points. The Yellow Duck combination won 21-11, thus eliminating their opponents 2-1 and advancing.

2022 Badminton World Championships

It is understood that the 2022 Badminton World Championships will be held in Tokyo, Japan from August 22nd to 28th. As the world's heaviest badminton tournament of the year, the World Championships have attracted the attention of badminton fans worldwide. The Chinese badminton team will participate in four events, namely men's singles, women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles, with mixed doubles, women's singles, and women's doubles all having great hopes of winning gold.
