On the second day of the World Badminton Championships, Chinese badminton team won 8, and Chen Yufei made her debut

On the second day of the 2023 World Badminton Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, Chen Yufei, the first sister of the Chinese badminton women's singles, easily advanced to the round of 16, while Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, the mixed doubles "IELTS duo," also passed smoothly. Most of the other Chinese players who played on the same day ended the game with a victory, and the Chinese team won 8 games on the second match day.

On the second day of the competition, more Chinese badminton players made their debut at this year's World Championships, with the most notable being Tokyo Olympics women's singles gold medalist Chen Yufei and defending world mixed doubles champions Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong.

Chen Yufei's debut was quite relaxed, as she defeated Chinese Taipei veteran Bai Yupo 2-0 in 37 minutes, continuing her unbeaten record against the latter. It is worth mentioning that when Chen Yufei first participated in the World Championships in 2017, her first opponent was Bai Yupo.

After the game, Chen Yufei believed that Bai Yupei had made obvious tactical adjustments and appeared more patient in not rushing to attack. "There were many stalemate shots, which caused some of my mistakes. But my stability was better, so I was able to win.". When it comes to the initial experience of this World Championships, Chen Yufei frankly stated that she has not yet adapted to the direction of the venue, so she made more attempts in the first game and made timely adjustments if she goes out of bounds.

Chen Yufei easily won the first game, but for the Chinese team, who have been away from the World Championships women's singles champion for 12 years, the road for the women's singles players to win this time is still bumpy.

South Korean player An Xieying, who has won 7 championships in various competitions this year, is in good form and won easily 2-0 in another women's singles 1/16 match on the same day. Defending women's singles champions Yamaguchi Qian and Chinese Taipei star Dai Ziying, who have not yet appeared, are equally confident and may become strong opponents of the Chinese badminton women's singles. If Chinese women's singles want to fulfill their dream of winning the championship, there are still strong opponents that need to be defeated.

Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong also advanced with a 2-0 sweep in their debut. Compared to the hot feeling of winning 10 championships after re partnering last year, the IELTS combination's performance has fluctuated this year. So far this season, they have won 3 championships and suffered losses in 5 international competitions. As the world's number one strength combination, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong often become the research objects of their opponents, and the two are actively summarizing their recent experience of losing matches.

In the next round, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong will face the challenge of Indonesian powerhouse Deyang/Videjia. Zheng Siwei commented that Deyang/Videjia have achieved two decisive victories in this World Championships, indicating that their form has improved and they are well prepared. Next, the two will attempt targeted tactics to confront this pair of players.

In this competition, as a mixed doubles event with strong national badminton skills, the signing luck was poor. Three pairs of participating groups gathered in the upper half of the zone, which most likely led to a civil war in the promotion path of the "IELTS". Once encountering Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping or Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin in the semi-finals, their mutual understanding will make the competition more intense. If they make it to the finals, their opponents are likely to be strong opponents such as Japanese duo Watanabe Yoshida/Higashino Yusha, Korean duo Seo Seong zai/Tsai You din in the lower half.
