A trip to Paris to buy the dress of your dreams

When my mother worked in the orchestra, we had a black Jamaican maid named Jackie, who was always warm and bright, dressed in bright costumes, and she brought joy into my life.

This real life memory is the source of my creation, which brings me the most reliable reference for designing the clothes of Mrs. Harris and her black companions.

My principle is to use design language to make the film feel real.

That way, we're going to get the movie and the characters where they want to be.

When actors put on their costumes and see themselves in the mirror, in the dressing room, and say, "Now I know who I am," that's an absolute joy to me.

Because with the help of the costumes I designed, they have hit the character and found themselves in the character.

This process makes the characters in the film come to life.

Then, the actor's makeup and hair can make the character more realistic.

That particular costume brought the actor back to life in character.

I design costumes to help them build confidence in their roles, which is definitely my plan.

I design movie costumes for international actors, whether they are ordinary actors or international stars, and I get an incredible sense of satisfaction when I see actors find roles with the help of my costumes.

Fashion design is about clothes and trends themselves.

Costumes, it's all about people. The costume designer is there to support the story, the character and the story, and also to build great confidence for the actor to be the character.

These are very interesting to me.

The greatest joy of designing costumes is that each film is brand new, for example, this film made me fall for Dior, which I was not familiar with before.

What attracted me was not only Dior's design, but also the system and social environment of French haute couture in that era.

Mr. Dior is so lovely, he loves art and gardening, this is another side of him.

Unfortunately, God is jealous of talent, he died young, but left a deep and beautiful mark in history.

These new things and new knowledge that I learn on the job bring me completely different experiences and experiences.

This job keeps me young, and with each film I am exposed to a different era and historical context. Film costume design keeps me young!
