The year 2008

In October of that year, Philo accepted an offer from LVMH to become the creative director of Celine. After eight successful years at the helm of Michael Kors, the brand is experiencing the pain of constant changes in leadership.

The year 2009

Philo launched her first Celine collection in October, showing all the elements that will make her a hit: classic pragmatism, clear colors, elegant leather cuts, shoes that have been described as "genius."

She also launched three handbag lines - Cabas, Luggage and Classic. The spacious and practical Luggage shopping bag, with its expandable sides and double wavy pattern on the front, became one of the brand's most recognized and copied styles - so much so that the brand had to file for trademark protection for it in 2016.

The year 2010

Just three seasons later, the Philo Fandom was born - a group of women who fully support Philo's minimalist, commuter-oriented, and trend-free approach to design.

Philo began a long-term collaboration with photographer Juergen Teller, who shot the first campaign for Celine, whose subtly provocative big-flash images soon became part of the brand's visual identity.

In October, the designer brought a pajama silk shirt with a Mosaic print and slacks to the runway, and everyone from Kanye West to Jessica Simpson has since donned the look.

The year 2011

Philo received an international award from the CFDA Fashion Awards.

The year 2012

Always at the forefront of fashion, Philo started the "ugly shoes" trend with Celine's spring/Summer 2013 fur flats, fur heels, and nude heels adorned with painted toes.

The year 2013

For Fall/winter 2013, Philo presented a collection of warm and luxurious textured, loosely tailored pieces, including velvet and sweaters, creating a new interpretation of "comfortable" clothing. In the same year, she was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen's New Year Honours List.

The year 2014

Following the opening of a new flagship store on London's Mount Street, Celine has announced expansion with new stores in Paris, Chengdu, Tokyo, New York and Las Vegas.

Philo also managed the renovation of Celine's new headquarters at 16 rue Vivienne in Paris, a building built in 1653 and formerly the famous Hotel Colbert de Torcy.

The year 2015

Philo has stirred up the Internet in her own way, choosing 82-year-old literary icon Joan Didion to be the face of her spring/summer 2015 campaign. She has been described as "the ultimate Celine woman: smart, creative and vaguely stubborn". Since then, other brands have followed suit, putting mature women like Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange and Charlotte Rampling in their ads.

The year 2016

Amid growing rumors that she would be leaving the brand, Philo signed an internal memo with CEO Marco Gobbetti, noting that "their partnership is more positive and committed than ever and will continue to create beautiful products."

The year 2017

As Bailey was about to leave Burberry, rumors of Philo's departure erupted again at the end of 2017. The designer who took Celine to unprecedented heights has finally announced her departure after a decade of service to the brand, and her next project is still unannounced, but wherever she goes, her loyal fans will follow.

No matter who succeeds Celine as creative director, Philo's legacy will never be replaced.
