5 NBA players worth paying attention to at the World Cup!

The 2023 Men's Basketball World Cup will kick off today.

This World Cup has broken the record of 54 NBA active players participating in the 2019 World Cup. Among the 32 teams participating in this competition, a total of 27 teams have at least one player with NBA experience, totaling 55 NBA players.

Specifically for each country, apart from the US men's basketball team, which has 12 NBA players, the Australian men's basketball team has the most active NBA players (9 players), followed by the Canadian team (7 players) and the German team (4 players).

Let's briefly talk about this tweet. In my mind, there are 5 NBA players worth paying attention to in the World Cup (ranked in no particular order)!

First, Dongqiqi.

Dong Qiqi, from the Mavericks, is undoubtedly the top star of this World Cup and the most versatile and single point player.

Dongzi, as a major weapon on the FIBA stage, will represent Slovenia in the battle.

The second one, Edwards.

In the last World Cup, the US men's basketball team only achieved a dismal record of 7th place.

Four years later, they did not send out their strongest lineup, and stars such as Durant and Chou Mei did not come.

So since that's the case, who is currently the core of this American team?

Based on the performance in the warm-up matches, everyone can focus on the young Edwards.

The third one, Towns.

As an NBA All Star player, Towns will represent Donimiga in the World Cup.

Moreover, the Dominican Republic will be placed in the same group as the Philippines, a competitor for the Olympic spot in the Chinese men's basketball team.

So, cheer for Towns!

Fourth place, Marcanin.

The average score per game is 27.9 points and 8.1 rebounds, with three shooting percentages of 54.2%, 40.5%, and 90.6%, respectively. This is the performance of Finnish player Markanin in last year's European Championship.

He is also a major weapon of FIBA.

And his performance this year will determine whether Finland can break through from the group stage.

Group E, Germany, Finland, Australia, and Japan.

The last one, without a doubt, Li Kaier.

As a naturalized player of the Chinese men's basketball team, Li Kaier will become our only active NBA player.

His performance also greatly affects whether the men's basketball team can obtain a ticket to the Paris Olympics.

Looking forward to Li Kaier leading the team further!
