On the basis of continuing the cross-professional, domestic and international, multi-sectoral characteristics of the previous eight forums, many new highlights have been added: Adopting the "Internet + people-to-people Exchange" online and offline linkage approach,

the two new discussion topics of Silk Road Literature and Silk Road Heritage were set up at the same time in the International Education Center of Shanghai International Studies University Songjiang Campus, the China Maritime Museum and online, to explore practical ways to build a "Silk Road Academic community".

The 9th Silk Road Studies Forum is an important academic seminar on the "Belt and Road" construction in the past eight years, which is gathered by domestic academic experts, widely participated by academic institutions,

and involves comprehensive and in-depth topics. It is not only a recognition of the "Silk Road academic community" explored in the field of Silk Road studies, but also a collective voice of the Chinese Silk Road academic community.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Wu Sike, former Chinese Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Mr. Luo Lin, Director of the National and Regional Studies Secretariat of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Yan Xiaobo,

Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Navigation, Mr. Zhang Dongsu, Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the China Maritime Museum, and Mr. Jiang Feng, Party Secretary of Shanghai International Studies University, delivered brilliant speeches at the opening ceremony.

At the same time, in the face of practical challenges such as anti-globalization, populism and the novel coronavirus epidemic, Chinese scholars should propose practical and effective solutions, which is exactly the academic strength of the "China plan".

Director Luo Lin pointed out that how to reinterpret the ancient and modern Silk Road relations between China and the world is not only an academic issue, but also a practical issue, which is worthy of in-depth interdisciplinary discussion.

It has become a consensus in the industry to build a new Silk Road study and Chinese Silk Road study by strengthening basic theoretical research, in-depth case studies, and strengthening the awareness of walking the Silk Road together and doing scholarship.

In particular, under the joint efforts of Professor Ma Lirong's Silk Road Study team and Chinese Silk Road scholars, great progress has been made in terms of concept definition, theoretical construction, framework interpretation and research methods. The construction of Silk Road studies with Chinese characteristics is becoming more and more mature.

Yan Xiaobo, Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Navigation, said that in the future, he will lead Chinese seafarers to make greater contributions to the study of the Maritime Silk Road, and will focus on building a scientific and technological power,

a maritime power, a transportation power and a shipping power, build a nautical academic exchange brand, build an international maritime science and technology exchange and cooperation platform, and improve the innovation and development of high-quality development capabilities and levels of service navigation.

Secretary Zhang Dongsu pointed out that the museum is a hub connecting the past, present and future, and shoulders the important task of strengthening cultural self-confidence. Zhonghai Bo pays attention to playing a role in the national strategy of maritime power and the construction of Shanghai shipping center,

as well as meeting the needs of the people, especially the people of Shanghai, for cultural and museum products, and doing a good job in the cultural living room of Shanghai culture. It will strive to become an important platform for research on the Silk Road, especially the Maritime Silk Road.

Jiang Feng, Secretary of Shanghai International Studies University, said that the university adheres to the talent training concept of "multilingual +", takes it as its mission to build a "world-class foreign language university with distinctive characteristics in the global knowledge field of each country",

and trains outstanding international talents who can "understand the language, the country and the field", so as to provide talents support for telling China's story well, spreading China's voice and contributing Chinese wisdom to the world.

To provide think tank support for promoting the dialogue among global civilizations and building an "academic community of shared future". The topics of this discussion revolve around Silk Road literature, Silk Road history,

Silk Road heritage, Silk Road Cultural Museum, "Belt and Road" research, etc. Among them, the newly added Silk Road literature topic is also an important connotation of the "double first-class" construction of foreign languages and literature in Shanghai Foreign Languages.

During the keynote speech stage, under the chairmanship of Professor Fu Zhiming, Vice dean of the School of Foreign Studies of Peking University, many important scholars in the Silk Road academic circle in China expressed wonderful views on the construction of the Silk Road academic community and other topics.

Professor Wang Wen, executive dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, Renmin University of China, put forward that the foundation for building the "Belt and Road Study" has matured, and the current "Belt and Road study" has become a prominent study and an important part of the revitalization of China's Silk Road study.

Professor Lu Shanbing, dean of the Silk Road Research Institute of Northwest University, pointed out that the protection of cultural heritage along the "Belt and Road" is forming a joint force, and the development of the Silk Road Golden Corridor is another important brand construction after the China-Europe railway.
