Balenciaga and Kanye terminate cooperation, the next one may be Adidas

Kering, the parent company of French luxury brand Balenciaga, announced that the brand will terminate its partnership with American rapper and fashion designer Kanye West (nicknamed Kanye West in Chinese) for making controversial remarks related to racial discrimination.

Kaiyun Group stated, "Balenciaga and Kanye West no longer have any relationship, and there will be no future cooperation plans."

It is worth noting that the cooperation between Kanye and the brand is at a hot time. In February of this year, the Yeezy Gap Engineering by Balenciaga series launched by Kanye in collaboration with Demna Gvasalia, the art director of Balenciaga, received extremely positive market feedback.

At the beginning of this month, Kanye's figure also appeared at the Paris Fashion Week's Parisian family show. Just over a decade later, Kanye was blacklisted by the brand due to his controversial remarks.

Kanye West, formerly known as Kanye West and now stage name Ye, was born in June 1977 in Atlanta, USA. He is a famous male rapper and music producer in the United States.

Kanye not only has talent in rap, but also has his own insights in design. He has collaborated with multiple brands such as Balenciaga, Adidas, Nike, and others in designing multiple shoes and clothing products, earning nearly one billion dollars in copyright fees annually.

In addition, Kanye is also very good at attracting traffic for himself. Running for the presidency of the United States, scandals with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, and discussions about racial discrimination are all topics created by Kan Ye for himself.

The termination of cooperation between Balenciaga and Kanye will be a significant blow to Kanye's brand. In fact, there is not just Balenciaga brand that wants to break ties with Kanye.

In mid September, Mark Breitbard, President and CEO of the American fashion retail brand Gap, stated in an internal notice to employees, "Although the shared vision is to bring high-quality, trendy, and practical designs to everyone through Yeezy Gap's unique all-around experience, the two sides have different views on how to collaborate on how to achieve this vision."

Several foreign media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, believe that this notice has indirectly announced the termination of cooperation between the two parties.

Earlier this month, German sports brand giant Adidas also stated that it is evaluating its partnership with Kanye.

Adidas stated, "After multiple attempts to resolve the current issues, we have decided to evaluate the partnership. During the evaluation period, we will continue to jointly manage the current business cooperation. The collaboration with Ye is one of the most successful collaborations in the history of the group. However, we also understand that all successful collaborations are built on mutual respect and shared values."

The news of the termination of cooperation between Balenciaga and Kanye has led many overseas commercial media to speculate that Adidas will be the next brand to bid farewell to Kanye.
