Analysis of China's new energy supply and consumption situation

In recent years, China's new energy (wind power, photovoltaic power generation) has developed rapidly, and the annual growth rate of wind power and photovoltaic power generation from 2017 to 2021 is 17.3% and 32.1%, respectively. In 2021,

Twelve provinces, including Qinghai, Inner Mongolia and Hebei, accounted for more than 30 percent of the installed capacity of new energy.

Five provincial-level power grids, including Qinghai, eastern Mongolia and Ningxia, accounted for more than 20 percent of new energy generation.

New energy continued to maintain a high utilization level, the average utilization rate of wind power was 96.9%, and the average utilization rate of photovoltaic power generation was 98%.

① The construction of large-scale desert scenery bases will be accelerated.

The state encourages the development of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects in the desert, and the competent authorities issued two batches of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic power base construction projects in the desert, Gobi and desert areas at the beginning of 2022, with a total installed capacity of more than 4.55×108 kW.

② Distributed photovoltaic power generation projects in the whole county are booming.

Since the start of the county's rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation development pilot work, the development of distributed photovoltaic power generation has accelerated significantly, and the distributed scale of new photovoltaic power generation installed in 2021 is 2.928×107 kW (accounting for 55%), which exceeds the centralized power station for the first time in history. The cumulative installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic power generation exceeded 1×108 kW, accounting for about 1/3 of the total installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation connected to the grid.

(3) Large-scale offshore wind power is developing rapidly.

In 2015, the installed capacity of offshore wind power connected to the grid was only 3.6×105 kW, and in 2021, driven by the replenishment of offshore wind power, the newly added installed capacity of offshore wind power was about 1.69×107 kW, and the accumulated installed capacity was about 2.639×107 kW. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the total installed capacity of offshore wind power in the country is about 1×108 kW.

(4) The participation of new energy in electricity market trading has been steadily promoted.

China's new energy is still based on the guarantee of "quantity and price" acquisition, and the remaining electricity is involved in market-oriented transactions; Medium and long-term transactions such as direct trading by large users, inter-provincial delivery and power generation rights trading are the main ones, and some spot market pilots are gradually introducing new energy.

In 2021, green electricity trading was launched, and blockchain technology was introduced to comprehensively record the production, transaction, transmission, consumption, settlement and other links of new energy electricity, realizing the trustworthy traceability of the whole process of green electricity trading. The market trading power of new energy in the business area of State Grid Co., Ltd. is 2.451×1011 kW·h, accounting for 30.1% of the total power generation of new energy.
