The list of the World's top 500 brands in 2023 was announced

For the first time, the number of Chinese brands has surpassed Japan to become the third in the world, after the United States and France. The list covers 32 countries and 47 industries, reflecting the competitiveness and influence of global brands.

According to the report, the food and beverage industry has the most brands on this year's list, with 35; The automotive and parts industry is second, with 32 brands; Brands from the retail and energy sectors tied for third place with 28 each. In addition, 25 brands made the list for the first time, with the highest ranking being Cigna of the United States at 85; There are six new Chinese brands on the list, including Poly, Tiktok, China Huadian, Tongwei, China Aviation Oil and Bosideng.

The average age of brands on this year's list is 98.57 years old, slightly higher than last year's 98.22 years old. There are 225 brands over 100 years old, accounting for more than 40%, reflecting the historical accumulation and inheritance of the brand.

Of the Chinese brands on the list, five are over 100 years old: Moutai, Tsingtao Beer, Wuliangye, Bank of China and AIA.
