The Chanel couture show is an artistic feast

The long-awaited CHANEL Autumn/Winter 2022 haute Couture uniform collection was released at the Etrier de Paris Equestrian Centre in Paris.

The venue was chosen to pay tribute to Gabrielle Chanel, who loved horsemanship, on the one hand, and also to respond to the last season's "horse and riding" element.

"I am taking the fall/Winter 2022/23 haute couture collection as a continuation of last season, while leaving room for exploration." Creative director Virginie Viard said before the show.

Through the poetic garden conceived by artist Xavier Veilhan, the dream scene of light, light, lines and art installations is matched with the elegant and exquisite haute couture uniforms, bringing a highly romantic art feast.

This is also the second collaboration between CHANEL and Xavier Veilhan following the spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture series.

Inspired by the optical illusion of trompe l 'oeil, Veilhan transformed the show into an immersive constructivist installation.

Among them, the silver pendant hanging in the center of the show is from the artist's Mobile collection.

Brand ambassador Pharrell Williams also joined in, kicking off the show with a drum set.

But the "protagonist" of the Haute couture show is always the clothes.

Simple and bright silhouette, light and soft material, supplemented by the unparalleled exquisite craftsmanship of the CHANEL Haute couture workshop, Virginie Viard brings a hymn to women under the title of "clothes".

CHANEL and the 1930s

This season, Virginie Viard is inspired by the 1930s.

The show opened with form-fitting suits and long dresses, similar to those worn by Gabrielle Chanel in the 1930s, but with a sharper shoulder line.

From the design structure, these coats have rounded and upright shoulder lines, and the square back cut makes women look free and powerful.

The details are even more exquisite, from the fabric itself to the stitching, stitching, and then to the decoration and decoration, are completed by hand, reflecting the high level of craftsmanship.

If you pay attention, you will find that whether it is a coat, half skirt or dress, it is equipped with delicate pockets - it is easy to associate with the chic image of Chanel lady hand pocket, but also very practical.

There are also ruffled dresses, especially chic dress dresses, with low waist lines and linear shapes, and bright ruffles to create a beautiful skirt like a fish tail.

From the trend of the 20-30's "through", after a new interpretation, bringing a more modern and simple appearance.

Zoom in to see the details, and find that even the casual buttons are shining like gems.

Various lace elements are presented in the form of inlay, rework, and re-coloring rather than embroidery.

Carefully explore the process, in order to appreciate the ultimate artistic aesthetic value of these high-order clothes.

The geometric lines of alternating light and shadow appear not only on the constructivist show installations, but also in the decorative details of fashion.

This extremely striking "visual sense" is both a nod to the 1930s and a return to the 1970s.
