What will we wear in the future world

The now popular animal print, Ferragamo used it on shoes as early as the 1920s. In 2017, Azzedine Alaia also teamed up with Ferragamo to pair his haute couture collection with these leopard-print Indiana boots.

In my opinion, Mr. Ferragamo was also one of the first to make effective use of data science.

In order to find out the secret of shoes that always fit, he went to the University of Los Angeles to study human anatomy, audit chemical engineering and math classes, and make shoes like science.

By 1957, he had created more than 20,000 designs and registered 350 patents.

High aesthetic, innovative design, extreme comfort, also makes Ferragamo become a "star shoemaker", his customers include Hepburn, Monroe, Sophia Loren and other legendary movie stars.

This consistent philosophy is also incorporated into Paul Andrew's design.

For example, the Viva series, which is a hit in these two seasons, is derived from the classic Vara series, but the toe has become sharper and smoother, and it is also younger, and the teardrop heel is inspired by the sculptural work of artist Richard Serra.

The most positive expression of Ferragamo's future design concept, in my opinion, is the sense of mission for sustainable development.

In the Ferragamo Winter 2021 collection, recycled second-hand polyester fibers are transformed into flexible dresses, second-hand wool and cashmere are processed and redesigned into warm and wide coats, and the sewing thread for shoes and leather products is also environmentally friendly PET material.

The soles also include materials sourced from certified and responsibly managed forests, recycled TPU rubber and polyurethane, and metal-free leather from plant-based tanning, a certified process that has a lower environmental impact.

Not only this season, environmental protection has been a core keyword of Ferragamo.

Group Chairman Ferruccio Ferragamo has said, "For Ferragamo, operating responsibly means first and foremost being aware of its impacts and at the same time finding creative and innovative solutions to mitigate those impacts in a serious manner."

In 2017, in honor of Earth Day, Ferragamo launched a green Orange Fiber collection, and invited designer Mario Trimarchi to design a Mediterranean style pattern for this fabric, including shirts, skirts, pants and handkerchief.

In 2019, the Ferragamo Museum also launched an exhibition entitled "Sustainable Development", where Mr. Ferragamo's forward-thinking and innovative design skills can also be seen.

His research on different materials began in the 1920s, including the clever use of avant-garde materials such as hemp, cellophane, and fish skin, which planted the seeds for the use of environmentally friendly alternatives in the fashion industry.

The early Spring 2021 collection draws design inspiration from nature, and environmentally friendly organic fabrics are presented in simple lines.

The spring/summer 2021 show also featured dresses and coats made of renewable materials and sustainable wool.

Paul Andrew described the 2021 Winter collection as a utopian future, a better future built in a diverse way.

And I believe,

In the real future,

We can also see a lot of people wearing it

Ferragamo.
