Zion Williamson became the top pick in the 2019 draft


The 2019 NBA Draft was held at Barclays Center, the home of the Nets in New York.

The New Orleans Pelicans selected Zion Williamson from Duke University with the first overall pick.

Williamson also became the NBA's first "00" champion.

In one year for Duke, Williamson appeared in 33 games, averaging 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals in 30 minutes per game.

He was also a unanimous first-team All-American and won the college Player of the Year award.

The Pelicans, who sent away Anthony Davis, the previous No. 1 overall pick, will be rebuilding next season around Williamson.

The Memphis Grizzlies selected Jia Morant from Murray State University with the second pick, Morant 2018-19 season college data, averaged 24.5 points, 10 assists and 5.7 rebounds, shooting 49.9%, shooting 36.3% from three-point range, making 1.7 three-point shots per game, free throw shooting 81.3%, and averaging 5.2 turnovers per game. Morant was the NCAA assist King and was named to the All-American first team.

The New York Knicks selected RJ Barrett from Duke University with a draft pick.

Barrett, 19, is 2 '01 "tall and weighs 92 kilograms. In college, Barrett can be all-round, in one season at Duke averaged 22.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists, several turnovers averaged 3.2 times, shooting 45.4%!

The Pelicans took the No. 4 pick from the Lakers in the Anthony Davis trade and traded him to the Hawks before the draft.

The Hawks selected Andre Hunter with the fourth pick.

Hunter averaged 15.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2 assists in 18-19, shooting 52 percent from the field, 43.8 percent from three-point range and 78.3 percent from the free throw line.

The Cavs selected Darius Garland from Vanderbilt University with the fifth pick in the first round. During his freshman season, Garland averaged 16.2 points and 2.6 assists per game.

Garland is the son of former NBA player Winston Garland, who averaged 9.4 points and 4.7 assists per game during his seven-year NBA career.

The Phoenix SUNS selected Jarrett Culver with the sixth pick.

The Chicago Bulls selected Bryant White from the University of North Carolina with the seventh pick.

The Pelicans took the No. 8 pick from the Hawks to pick Texas Tech's Jaxon Hayes;

The Eagles selected CAM Redish from Duke with the 10th pick.
