"The New Look" series

In 1947, Christian Dior, The founder of the classic fashion house, unveiled his first spring/summer Haute Couture collection, "The New Look," to shake off the wartime doldrums, It has left an indelible mark on fashion history. One of Christian Dior's autumn/winter haute couture collections in 1952 was an evening gown named Palmyre, which is now one of the fashion museum's prized collections. The evening gown was made of cellulose satin with gold and silver threads embroidered with pearls, sequins and crystals. The floral patterns in different styles were illustrated in just the right shades of blue -- sky blue, smoky gray and ice. The overlapping palm leaves highlighted Dior's classical charm and luxurious charm.

Starting in the summer of 2021, these historic garments are on display in France as a permanent exhibition, taking visitors on an unprecedented tour of the development and evolution of fashion over three centuries, tracing the history of the collections of the Paris Fashion Museum. It is worth mentioning that the Fashion Museum also has a storage and restoration studio with an area of more than 6,300 square meters for the storage, cleaning, restoration and reinforcement of the exhibition fashion.
