On October 17th, the internationally renowned extreme sports event "FISE World Tour China Shanghai Station" officially announced its landing in Xuhui, Shanghai. The new event will be launched in October 2024 on the west bank of the Binjiang River!

On the morning of that day, the West Bank Group and the French Hurricane Group held a signing ceremony at the Xuhui Binjiang West Bank Dome Art Center. It is understood that the FISE World Tour was born in Montpellier, France in 1997 and is the world's largest comprehensive extreme sports event organized by the French Hurricane Group. The competition includes 9 extreme sports events, including freestyle small wheel park race, freestyle small wheel flat figure, skateboarding, breakdancing (street dance), extreme roller skating, earth slope mountain biking, rock climbing, parkour, and wake wave water skiing. The FISE World Tour is not only a leader in emerging urban extreme sports, but also has an officially certified Olympic qualification race schedule. Since 2014, competitions have been held in 12 cities around the world, with 500 international athletes from 30 countries participating each year and attracting over 1 million spectators to watch the event on site.

"The 'FISE World Tour' is known as a 'temple level event' by extreme sports enthusiasts worldwide. With the landing of this top international sports event, Shanghai West Coast has been able to further deepen the layout of the regional high-quality sports industry, especially in the cultivation and promotion of extreme sports, taking an extremely important step." said Chen Anda, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai West Coast Development (Group) Co., Ltd.

With the introduction of the "FISE World Tour China Shanghai Station", it will be beneficial to improve the unique competition system of Xuhui District and expand the international reputation and influence of Xuhui Binjiang.

Just last week, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Shanghai and Budapest have been selected as the host cities for the Olympic qualification series. This is a brand new holiday series that combines sports with urban culture. During the Shanghai leg of the series, athletes from all over the world will gather along the Huangpu Riverside in four events: freestyle scooters, breakdancing, skateboarding, and rock climbing. It can be seen that the open and beautiful waterfront public spaces in Shanghai are constantly providing citizens and tourists with a comprehensive and dynamic experience that integrates multiple functions and services such as sports, leisure, socializing, and green viewing.

In Xuhui Binjiang, there are also excellent and complete sports facilities and equipment, as well as a profound sports culture. Based on unique geographical advantages and scientific strategic layout, "sports" has become a brand new shining business card on the west bank of Shanghai, in addition to the cultural, artistic, fashion, technology and other fields that citizens and tourists are familiar with and love.

Combining the trend of integrating cultural, commercial, tourism, and sports industries, Shanghai West Bank has been committed to creating the "Xuhui paradigm" of the Binjiang Sports, Fitness, and Leisure Belt. At present, the entire section of Xuhui Binjiang has been built with 8.95 kilometers of running, walking, and cycling tracks, as well as a skateboard park, basketball court, climbing wall, and children's playground.
