South American Football Confederation announces the match situation for the 2021 Copa America

The final competition will be held in four cities: Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Gojania, and Cuaba, with two venues in Rio de Janeiro serving as competition venues.

The opening match will be held on June 13th at the Manegarincha Stadium in Brasilia, with the host country Brazil facing Venezuela. The final will be held on July 10th at the Maracana Stadium in Rio.

The overall grouping and competition situation have not changed, still divided into two large groups, each with 5 teams. The group stage ends on June 28th, and the top four teams in each group enter the knockout stage.

In order not to affect the domestic league in Brazil, the most matches are held in the city of Brasilia, which does not have a Serie A team, with a total of 8 games. The Maracana Stadium in Rio only holds one final match, while other matches in Rio are held at the Nilton Santos Stadium.

The South American Football Confederation also issued a statement refuting the claim that holding the Copa America is a pursuit of economic benefits, The statement said: "In fact, the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and the temporary relocation of the Copa America has brought economic losses.

The decision to still hold the game is a joint decision of the South American Football Association's board of directors. All teams in South America are fighting for honor, especially no South American team has won the world championship for 20 years by next year. The Copa America is an important opportunity for us to train the team."
