"China and the United States should deal with each other well", the two dialogues in San Francisco on this day attracted worldwide attention

On November 15 local time, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended two important events in San Francisco. During the day, the presidents of China and the United States met, a summit that attracted worldwide attention. In the evening, President Xi attended the joint welcome banquet of American friendship groups and delivered a speech, which was a sincere communication to the American people.

"China and the US need to deal with each other well." Simple language shows the responsibility of a great power, and rational voice wins the recognition of the world. The world will remember these two conversations, which took place on a single day in San Francisco.

On the 15th, the Chinese and US presidents met at the Philoli Estate in San Francisco. At around 11:15 a.m. on the same day, President Xi Jinping arrived at the main building of the manor by car.

The estate is located about 40 kilometers south of San Francisco and was built in 1917. It is a combination of English country gardens and native Californian landscapes, with many design elements influenced by Chinese garden styles.

This is the third time for President Xi to attend such informal and relatively flexible meetings in the United States, following the Annenberg Summit in June 2013 and the Mar-a-Lago Summit in April 2017.

The meeting between the two heads of state comes one year and one day after the last meeting in Bali. Returning to Bali and heading to San Francisco to bring China-Us relations back to the right track is the common expectation of the international community on the eve of the summit.

President Xi said in his opening remarks that he looks forward to having an in-depth exchange of views with Mr. President today on issues of strategic, overarching and directional importance to China-Us relations and major issues concerning world peace and development, and reaching new consensus.

President Biden said that it is of special significance for us to meet face to face again today in San Francisco, and I look forward to achieving new consensus and results based on the Bali meeting.

After more than two hours of talks, President Biden hosted a luncheon for President Xi. The two heads of state also took a walk together in the Philori Estate. The meeting lasted four hours.

At the San Francisco meeting, the heads of state of China and the United States had in-depth face-to-face exchanges and further discussed the right way for China and the United States to get along as two major countries. This meeting is an important meeting to build trust, dispel doubts, manage differences and expand cooperation in China-Us relations. It is also an important meeting to inject certainty and enhance stability in a volatile and changing world. Its importance can be summed up in at least four key words.

The two heads of state recognized the efforts and consensus reached by the diplomatic teams of the two sides since their meeting in Bali to discuss the guiding principles for U.S.-China relations.

During the meeting, President Xi Jinping fully elaborated on China's authoritative position on the steady improvement of China-Us relations. President Biden said that US-China conflict is not inevitable, and a stable and developing China is in the interests of the United States and the world.
