Jennifer Aniston has criticized J.D. Vance for his comments about childless women

Jennifer Aniston has criticized J.D. Vance for his past comments about childless women.

Aniston shared a screenshot of Vance's appearance on the show in her Instagram story, writing, "I really can't believe these words are coming from a future vice presidential candidate of the United States."

In a 2021 appearance on Tucker Carlson's former "Fox News" show, Vance said America is being controlled by "a bunch of cat ladies without children who are unhappy with their lives and the choices they make and therefore want to make the rest of the country miserable as well."

In the video, which recently resurfaced on social media, Van also mentions: "It's just a basic fact - you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Battigii, Scioscia Ocasio-Cortez - that the entire future of the Democratic Party is controlled by people who don't have children."

So is it reasonable for us to hand over the country to people who have no direct stake in it?"

Aniston, while generally keeping her private life private, has spoken openly about her fertility journey and also weighed in on Vance's far-right stance on reproductive rights.

She wrote on social media: "I just want to say... I pray, Mr. Vance, that your daughter will be lucky enough to have children of her own."

"I hope she doesn't need IVF as a second option. Because you're trying to take away her choice."

Reproductive health will be a key issue in the upcoming elections in November. Many women in Hollywood have spoken out on reproductive rights and will align themselves with Harris, who has been a leading spokeswoman for the Biden administration on abortion and women's health issues.

Van's sister, Lindsey Lewis, said in a statement that her brother was "not only raised by some of the strongest women I've ever known," but was married to an "incredibly strong woman, Usha."

"JD is a testament to the women in his life, and the media and the Democrats assume that any attack otherwise is despicable."

Aniston's reaction to Vance's comments comes from personal experience. Throughout her career, she has been subjected to excessive gossip stories that have constantly explored her relationships and questioned why she didn't have children.

In 2022, Aniston spoke about her fertility struggles for the first time in a cover story for Allure and revealed that she underwent IVF treatment.

"I tried to get pregnant. For me, the reproductive path has been challenging, "Aniston said, looking back on her 30s and 40s. "After years of speculation... It was really hard. I'm going through IVF, drinking herbal tea, you can imagine I've tried it all.

I'd give anything if someone told me, 'Freeze your eggs and give yourself a chance.' 'You don't even think like that. So now, here I am and the ship has set sail."

In her Allure interview, Aniston said the media narrative that she's "just selfish" and "only cares about her career" is painful.

"My God, how can a woman be successful and have no children?" "She said in 2022. "The reason my husband left me, why we separated and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn't give him children. This is an absolute lie."

On Wednesday, Aniston also appeared to voice her support for Harris, retweeting a 2018 video of Harris pressuring then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on abortion rights. (The video Aniston retweeted was shared by actress Allison Jani.)

A representative for Aniston has been contacted for further comment on her comments about Vance and her remarks appearing to support Harris.
