The latest report of the Badminton World Championships: Li Shifeng easily swept to the round of 16, while Lu Guangzu stopped in the second round.

The 2023 Badminton World Championships will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Chinese national badminton made its debut today, with Lu Guangzu and Li Shifeng from the top quarter of the men's singles division competing separately. If they can advance, they will meet in the round of 16. Lu Guangzu's opponent is Taiwanese athlete Prince Wei.

At the beginning of the first game, Lu Guangzu was in good form and led 4-1 at one point. However, a subsequent dunk error caused Prince Wei to launch a 6-0 attack, bringing the score back to 7-4. Lu Guangzu stabilized the situation and pursued a draw of 8, but later Wang Ziwei scored consecutively again, widening the gap with a score of 13:9. Next, Prince Wei gradually expanded his lead and won the inning with a score of 20:14. Although Lu Guangzu saved two game points, he ultimately lost the first game 16:21.

In the second round, Lu Guangzu adjusted his mentality and started with a 4-0 lead. However, Prince Wei once again pursued the score, scoring continuously to form a 9-2 offensive and overtaking the score to 9:6. However, Lu Guangzu held his ground and pursued to a level of 9. Afterwards, Lu Guangzu did not give Wang Ziwei a second chance to launch an attack, gradually widening the gap and equalizing the score with a score of 21:18. In the decisive game, Prince Wei started with a 5-1 lead and then expanded his lead to 11:2. After the venue exchange, Lu Guangzu regained his form and unleashed a powerful 17:7 attack wave, taking a 19:18 lead for the first time.

Unfortunately, Lu Guangzu was unable to achieve a super reversal. Subsequently, Wang Ziwei stabilized the situation and ultimately lost the third game with a score of 19:21, ending the second round with a total score of 1:2. In the match to be held later tonight, Li Shifeng will face Thai player Wang Gaolun. Li Shifeng was in excellent form, easily leading 13-6 in the first game. Next, he gave his opponent no chance and won the first game with a score of 21:10. After the second round began, Li Shifeng once again took the lead and led 5-2. Subsequently, he maintained a 3-point lead, and when the score reached 13:10, Wang Gaolun requested a pause.

After the pause ended, Wang Gaolun was only able to maintain the point difference without being widened by Li Shifeng, and at 20:11, Li Shifeng launched a 7:1 attack to win the match point. Subsequently, he won 21-12 and his opponent only scored 22 points in two matches, easily sweeping Wang Gaolun to advance to the round of 16 in just about 40 minutes. In the next round, Li Shifeng will face Prince Wei, hoping that he can avenge Lu Guangzu and advance to the top 8.
