Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2022) released! It is recommended to increase the intake of fish and shrimp

Dietary guidelines are a basic document for health education and public policies, and an important technical support for the national implementation of the Healthy China Action Plan (2019-2030) and the National Nutrition Plan (2017-2030).

Since the "Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents" was first issued in 1989, China has revised and issued three times in 1997, 2007 and 2016, which has played an important role in guiding residents to change their nutritional health status, prevent chronic diseases and enhance their health quality through balanced diets at different times.

Compared with the 2016 version, the eight guidelines for a balanced diet have been refined in this release: first, a variety of foods and a reasonable mix; Second, eating dynamic balance, healthy weight; Third, eat more fruits and vegetables, milk, whole grains, soybeans; 4, eat fish, poultry, eggs, lean meat; 5. Less salt and oil, sugar control and alcohol limit; 6. Eat regularly and drink enough water; Seven, will cook will choose, will look at the label; Eight, serving chopsticks, eliminate waste.

The guidelines also highlight the importance of fish and aquatic products. The Guidelines show that the average intake of fish and shrimp in China is 24.3g/d, which has not increased significantly over the years. Based on the level of scientific evaluation evidence of fish and health, the Guidelines put forward suggestions to increase the intake of fish and shrimp, and salmon, as a deep-sea fish rich in high-quality protein Omega-3, was recommended by the Dietary guidelines for the first time.

"Compared with developed countries, there is A big gap in the intake of deep-sea fish among Chinese children, which also leads to insufficient intake of important nutrients such as high-quality protein, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin D and vitamin E." Wang Zhu, a researcher at the Nutrition and Health Institute of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that guiding children to eat a reasonable diet and improving children's health can start from adjusting the diet structure, such as allowing children to eat a reasonable amount of fat and increasing the intake of deep-sea fish rich in Omega-3.

"As a source of high-quality deep-sea protein rich in Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids, salmon is becoming a new favorite on the dinner table." The relevant person in chief of Jiawei Group believes that the recommendation of the dietary guidelines on salmon is bound to promote the upgrade of salmon from "minority protein" to "national protein", and help consumers establish an upgrade from the "food balance" of the diet to a more comprehensive "nutrient balance" health concept.

Experts said that with the continuous improvement of living standards, the dietary structure of Chinese residents, the "amount" of protein has been greatly improved, and the "quality" of protein needs to be constantly adjusted and optimized from livestock protein to increase the intake of fish and shrimp protein, high-quality deep-sea protein structure.
