The prime time for cardiac arrest is only four minutes

If cardiopulmonary resuscitation is performed within 1 minute and AED (automatic external defibrillator) defibrillation is performed within 3 to 5 minutes, the survival rate of cardiac arrest patients can reach 50% to 70%.

However, whether performing CPR or an AED, when someone suddenly falls in front of you, do you dare to help?

The low success rate of rescue of sudden cardiac death is related to first aid consciousness, first aid skills and first aid equipment.

For example, the AED (automatic external defibrillator), known as the "fool lifesaver", as long as it is identified and started with a key, many people will not use it and dare not use it, and many public places have achieved the AED "match" but not "use it".

The golden hour is only four minutes

The best time to rescue sudden cardiac death is golden 4 minutes.

Dizziness and amaurosis can occur 3-4 seconds after sudden cardiac arrest.

10-20 seconds loss of consciousness; 30 to 60 seconds to stop breathing.

4 to 6 minutes, irreversible damage to brain cells.

If it's longer than 10 minutes, there's a higher chance of brain death.

For patients, some sudden cardiac death has different degrees of aura, such as a few hours or two or three days before the onset of unexplained fainting; For example, in the activity (or some people in rest or sleep) there have been chest tightness, chest pain, fatigue, palpitation and other discomfort, for this kind of discomfort, patients did not pay attention to, did not go to the doctor at the first time.

For the treatment of cardiac arrest, must be fast, to race against time! However, in many big cities, due to traffic and other pressures, from sudden illness to the arrival of emergency vehicles to the scene, this period of time due to the lack of professional rescue led to a first-aid gap, every minute delayed rescue, 10% of the chance of survival will be lost.

Therefore, early, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the first witness to a cardiac arrest is critical to saving lives.

However, for the public, many people lack the awareness of first aid, do not understand first aid knowledge, do not have first aid skills, and dare not extend their hands to rescue.

Remember the "three steps" to save lives

If the person around sudden cardiac arrest, in the rescue to remember the following links, critical moments can save lives.

The first step: Meet someone suddenly fell to the ground and call no (you can tap the patient on the shoulder and call the patient), the first should immediately call for help, dial the emergency number, and obtain the AED as soon as possible.

Step 2: To observe the patient's loss of consciousness, respiratory arrest or wheezelike breathing, CPR should be performed immediately. The method is to place the base of one palm of the rescuer at the midpoint of the connection between the two nipples, place the base of the other palm parallel to the first palm, interlock the fingers of both hands, lift the fingers out of the chest wall, straighten the elbows, and keep the shoulders and hands vertically and continuously press down quickly, with a depth of 5-6 cm. The frequency is 100-120 times per minute until an AED or ambulance arrives.

Step 3: The AED arrives at the scene and gives electrical defibrillation in time.
