Tesla's official announcement: This car officially opened delivery, 435,000 yuan from sale! Musk: It also tows a Porsche 911 faster than a 911

In the early morning of December 1, Beijing time, the delivery event of Tesla electric pickup Cybertruck was held in the Gigafactory in Texas, the United States, and the delivery of the model was officially opened in North America. Tesla's US website shows that the model is available in three versions, with rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and Cyberbeast starting at $60,990 (about 435,242 yuan), $79,990 (about 570,833 yuan) and $99,990 (about 713,558 yuan).

According to Tesla's official microblog on December 1, Tesla said that Cybertruck is extremely rugged, strong and durable, and can travel on the surface of any planet. The electronic adaptive air suspension provides a range of 305 mm of movement and 432 mm of ground clearance, which is flexible to handle a variety of rough road conditions and meet a variety of driving needs.

Cybertruck has super protective performance, armored glass can withstand 112 km/h baseball or Grade 4 hail impact. Soundproof glass makes the cockpit as quiet as outer space.

The Cybertruck delivery event officially kicked off at around 3:30 PM local time on Thursday, November 30. Tesla CEO Elon Musk personally drove a silver-gray Cybertruck to the stage to speak.

The seemingly weird shape is because the stainless steel is too hard to press the panels like a traditional body.

The company's chief designer, Franz Von Holzhausen, threw steel balls at the Cybertruck twice more, this time without breaking a single window or any damage to the body, as a similar demonstration in 2019 had broken the "unbreakable" "armored glass."

One user said the sci-fi looking Cybertuck line looked "futuristic."

Later, Tesla showed a video of the Cybertruck racing against the Porsche 911 at the delivery event. In this race, the Cybertruck beat the 911 while towing another 911. Musk noted that the Cybertruck is "faster than a 911 even when towing a 911."

The delivery event lasted just 25 minutes, making it one of Tesla's shortest ever. The speed of the pickup was not shown at the scene, only viewed through video, and no information on price and range was directly provided.

It is worth noting that after the release, Tesla's share price fell to about 3% in the late afternoon of the US stock market, and finally closed down 1.78% to $239.79, with a market value of $762.27 billion, falling for two days from a six-week high. Tesla shares fell more than 3 percent after hours.

When Tesla began taking pre-orders for Cybertruck in 2019, prices for the pickup at the time ranged from $39,900 to $69,900. Tesla initially said Cybertruck deliveries would start after the end of 2021. However, when it came to the delivery stage, the company suddenly removed the Cybertruck's pricing and body specifications from the official website, and it has not been restored since.

One of the key reasons for the two-year delay was Tesla's decision to build the Cybertruck using super-hard stainless steel, the same material used for the exterior of Musk's SpaceX Starship.
