US Defense Minister's "Poor" Visit to Ukraine: Does the Landlord's Home Have No Surplus Grain?

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited the Ukrainian capital Kiev and reiterated US support for Ukraine.

On that day, Ukrainian President Zelensky met with visiting US Secretary of Defense Austin in Kiev and expressed gratitude for Austin's visit.

"Your visit is a very important signal for Ukraine," Zelensky said. "We are very grateful to the American people. They have stood with us for many years in difficult times."

"The message I am bringing to you today is: the United States is with you, and we will stand with you for a long time." Austin said to Zelensky, "What happens here in Ukraine is not only important to Ukraine, but also to the whole world."

After the meeting, Austin told the media that he believed Ukraine was "ready for winter combat.".

The Associated Press reported that on the same day, Austin also met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Umerov and Armed Forces Commander in Chief Zaluzhne to discuss the issue of the Ukrainian military's counterattack and the long-term support provided by the United States.

It is worth noting that on the same day as Austin's visit to Ukraine, the US State Department announced a new round of additional military assistance to Ukraine. It is reported that this batch of materials will provide Ukraine with weapons and equipment worth $100 million, as well as spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training, and transportation.

CNN commented that the amount of funds available for the United States to assist Ukraine is gradually insufficient, and the total amount of this aid program is also the "least aid to date", reflecting that the available aid funds for the United States are starting to shrink.
