Zelensky warned the Ukrainian military brass: This is a big mistake

Due to the failure of the Ukrainian army to counterattack, the war between Russia and Ukraine dragged on, Ukrainian President Zelensky and the Ukrainian military top division. In an interview with the British media on November 20, Zelensky warned the Ukrainian military leadership not to get too involved in politics.

Zelenskiy gave an exclusive interview to the British newspaper The Sun on November 20. Asked about his relationship with Ukraine's military commanders, Zelensky said the country's generals were wrong to enter politics.

After 2014, he said, Ukrainian political parties wanted to co-opt some military figures and war stars, and "I think that was a big mistake." They were pushed into politics because they were destroyed on the battlefield."

In a blunt message to Ukrainian commanders, Zelensky said: "If a soldier decides to go into politics, which is his right, then he should go into politics, and then he can't handle the war."

"If you approach a war with the idea that tomorrow you're going to do politics or elections, then you're going to act and act like a politician on the front lines, not a military man, and I think that's a huge mistake," he warned.

Zelensky also warned that soldiers could disobey orders, threatening the unity of Ukraine. "I respect General Zaluzzin and all the commanders in the field, but there can only be one absolute understanding of the hierarchy, and that is it, there cannot be two, three, four, five, only one. By law, in time of war, this cannot even be discussed. That is not good for the unity of the country."

In the continuation of the war between Russia and Ukraine and the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Zaluzzi said in an interview with the British "Economist" weekly that the Ukrainian army could not make a "beautiful breakthrough" and transition to the "positional war phase." He also said that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is now "deadlocked." Ukrainian President Volodymyrov Zelensky questioned Zaluzzhny's views, and Zelensky's office accused the commander-in-chief of provoking panic in the West.

According to foreign media sources, Zaluhne is seen as Zelensky's replacement.
