Putin hits back at West at G20 Summit, says 4 "Isn't this shocking?"

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the G20 leaders' online meeting that "some colleagues mentioned in their speeches that they were shocked by the casualties caused by Russia's military operations in Ukraine." Yes, war is always cruel, and we should think about how to avoid such tragedies. By the way, Russia has never rejected peace talks in Ukraine, and it is Ukraine that has publicly withdrawn from the negotiating agenda. He also signed a decree of the head of state banning such talks with Russia.

Putin said, "I understand, this is war. The death and injury of children cannot fail to be shocking. But wasn't the bloody coup in Ukraine in 2014, followed by the Kiev regime's war against the people of eastern Ukraine in Donbass, shocking? And the slaughter of Palestinians and Gazans in the Gaza Strip today, is that not shocking? Isn't it shocking that doctors have to operate on children without anesthesia? Isn't it shocking that UN officials say Gaza has become a giant graveyard for children?"

In addition, Putin blamed the West for the current economic crisis facing the world. Putin said that the great pressure on the global economy was caused by the ill-considered macroeconomic policies of some countries. The current global economic situation requires [collective consensus decisions], and even collective consensus decisions on a world scale, that reflect the views of the majority of the international community, not only in the developed world but also in the developing world.

Putin also said that "in order to eliminate competitors and gain advantages, including the use of unfair competition methods." I am referring not only to the disruption of transport and logistics chains and international settlement channels, but also to acts of State terrorism. A heinous example is the destruction of the Nord Stream gas pipeline system under the Baltic Sea."
