The Chinese badminton team became the biggest winner at the Badminton World Championships, combining two groups to form the "Triple Crown"

The 7-day 2022 Badminton World Championships came to an end in Tokyo, Japan. In the competition for 5 individual events, the Chinese team won the women's doubles and mixed doubles championships, becoming the team with the highest number of gold medals and medals with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. It is worth mentioning that the women's doubles duo Chen Chenchen/Jia Yifan and the mixed doubles duo Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong both won their third World Championships gold medal.

On that day, three (pairs) players from the Chinese team entered the final competition. The women's doubles final will take place between Chinese team duo Chen Chenchen/Jia Yifan and Korean team duo Jin Zhaoying/Kong Xirong. The first round of the game was exceptionally tight, and the South Korean team, who made it to the World Championships final for the first time, posed a significant challenge to the "Fanchen" team, causing them to make frequent mistakes and disrupt their rhythm. But "Fan Chen" still tightly grasps the score, adjusts in a timely manner, and waits for opportunities to break through. Despite the opponent's grasp of the starting point, "Fanchen" still chased straight for 3 points, achieving a thrilling victory at the beginning.

With the lead in the big score, the tense feeling at the beginning of the "Fanchen" game gradually dissipated. With years of experience and understanding as partners, they gradually improved in the second round of the competition. After the score alternated to 7:7, the Chinese team did not give any more matches and held the lead until the end, successfully defending their title and standing on the highest podium of the World Championships for the third time.

The mixed doubles arena also witnessed the birth of a Chinese team's "triple crown". Facing their old opponents at home, Japan's Watanabe Yoshida and Higashino Yusha, Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong displayed fierce attacks and extremely strong speed characteristics, quickly resolving the battle with a score of 21:13 and 21:16. IELTS stated that they ultimately won by steadfastly executing tactics, not being soft at critical moments, and persistently creating attacks to score points.

In April of this year, the IELTS duo, who had undergone a brief split, re teamed up and started the gold medal winning mode at the Asian Championships. As of this World Championships, we have won 35 matches and won seven consecutive championships in various international competitions. Another pair of Chinese team duo Wang Yilu and Huang Dongping lost to their teammate "IELTS" in the semi-finals and won a bronze medal.

The women's singles final will be played by Chen Yufei against the defending champion, the top seed of the competition, and Japanese player Sai Yamaguchi. This is the 22nd time the two sides have faced each other. Prior to this, Sai Yamaguchi had an advantage with a record of 13 wins and 8 losses. In the game, Sai Yamaguchi showed a more aggressive attack and tenacious defense. In the end, Chen Yufei lost 1-2 to Sai Yamaguchi and won the silver medal. Previously, Chen Yufei defeated Chinese Taipei team player Dai Ziying in the semi-finals, becoming the first Chinese badminton player to reach the women's singles final of the World Championships since Li Xuerui won the silver medal in 2014. Today's silver medal is also Chen Yufei's best result at the World Championships.

In the men's doubles final, Malaysia's young pair Xie Dingfeng/Su Weiyi defeated Indonesia's pair Ashan/Hendra 2-1, winning Malaysia's first ever gold medal at the Badminton World Championships. As a result, Ashan/Hendra missed out on the four championships.

In the men's singles final, Denmark's top player Anselon defeated Thailand's Kunravut 2-1 and won the World Championships for the second time in his career. Chinese team Zhao Junpeng and Chinese Taipei team Zhou Tiancheng won bronze medals.
