Precautions for atomizing treatment at home

Atomized inhalation refers to the method of dissolving the liquid medicine into droplets through instruments and devices, ejected in the form of aerosol, inhaled naturally through the mouth and nose, and finally achieved the purpose of local treatment of respiratory tract.

Although the amount of nebulized inhalation therapy is only one tenth of the amount of systemic medicine, it can form a high local drug concentration, help to quickly alleviate clinical symptoms, avoid or reduce adverse reactions caused by systemic administration, and is a safe treatment method.

Today, we summarized 16 small knowledge of home atomization inhalation treatment. Take 3 minutes to read it and you will be rewarded.

  1. Do not apply oily cream on the face before atomizing treatment, which may cause more serious facial drug adsorption.

  2. Remove sputum in the mouth and nasal cavity before atomizing treatment. Try not to eat, so as to avoid the aerosol generated during the inhalation process to stimulate the airway, causing nausea, vomiting and other discomfort.

  3. When using a hand-held atomizer, the medicine storage tank must be kept upright. When using a mask, cover the mouth and nose (the distance between the mask and the mouth and nose is less than 1 cm).

  4. When the fog first comes out, do not rush to cover the mouth and nose to prevent coughing caused by drug stimulation, and slowly put the atomizing mask close to the mouth and nose, exhale and inhale slowly.

  5. The atomization treatment time should not exceed 20 minutes, avoid inhaling for too long, inhaling too much water and stimulating the respiratory tract.

  6. When atomizing treatment, observe whether there is discomfort and fog out of the atomizer, and do not let the mist spray to the eyes.

  7. Gargle in time after treatment to prevent the liquid from gathering in the oropharynx. After using the mask nebulizer, pay attention to clean the face to avoid residue of the liquid medicine.

  8. After the atomization treatment, the atomization device should be cleaned, disinfected and dried.

  9. Some drugs can not be mixed in the same container, be sure to follow the doctor's advice, do not increase or decrease the type and dosage of drugs.

  10. In order to reduce crying during atomization, it is recommended to place the mask 6 to 7 cm away from the child's face at the beginning of atomization, then gradually reduce it to 3 cm, and finally close to the mouth and nose, so that the child can gradually adapt to the spray method and temperature.

  11. It is generally recommended that the total amount of liquid in the aerosol bottle for adults is 4 to 6 ml, and that for children is 3 to 4 ml. Too little liquid medicine, the amount of medicine to reach the lower respiratory tract is relatively small, can not achieve the therapeutic effect. Too much medicine is easy to lead to too long atomization time, affecting the quality of fog production and drug properties.

  12. Correct breathing mode is conducive to the deposition of liquid droplets and improve the therapeutic effect. There are two kinds of atomizing inhalers, including mouth and mask. Oral inhalation and nasal exhalation should be used when using the former. When using the latter, you should use nasal inhalation, nasal exhalation, or nasal inhalation and oral exhalation, hold your breath for 2 to 3 seconds after deep inhalation, and then slowly exhale, inhaling the liquid into the deep throat as far as possible.

  13. At present, there is insufficient evidence to prove that normal saline atomization is beneficial to patients, and it is not recommended to use normal saline atomization inhalation therapy alone.

  14. Home nebulizing inhalation therapy is mainly suitable for the treatment of respiratory diseases in stable or remission stage, such as chronic pharyngitis, rhinitis, chronic duration of asthma, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, sputum obstruction syndrome, pulmonary fibrosis, and chronic cough after cold. It can also be used by patients who need to humidify the airway and dilute sputum with the approval of their doctor.

  15. People with common cold and mild symptoms do not need to be treated with aerosol inhalation at home.

  16. Atomization inhalation treatment also has adverse reactions, we should find as early as possible, as early as possible to deal with.

Rapid, frequent coughing and increased wheezing may be caused by too fast or too fast atomization inhalation, and the speed of atomization inhalation should be slowed down.

Tremors, muscle spasms and other discomfort patients with such symptoms do not panic, should stop the drug in time. Generally, the drug can be recovered after withdrawal.

Shortness of breath, feeling sleepy or sudden chest pain should stop treatment immediately and go to the hospital.
