On December 1, the 2023 Tengchong Scientists Forum, with the theme of "Science and Technology leading the future" and "Science and green development", opened in Tengchong, Yunnan Province.
Top scientists, university presidents, well-known entrepreneurs, and representatives of the financial sector from home and abroad gathered for extensive exchanges focusing on scientific and technological innovation, higher education, sustainable development of enterprises, and international cutting-edge science.
At the opening ceremony, the first "Tengchong Science Award", which has received much attention from domestic and foreign scientific and technological communities, was officially announced.
Lo Yuk-ming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and known as the "father of non-invasive birth inspection", professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chinese-American scientist, one of the internationally recognized CRISPR-Cas gene editing technology pioneers, Professor Zhang Feng of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, won the award.
2023 Tengchong Scientists Forum is co-sponsored by Yunnan Provincial People's Government and China Association for Science and Technology, supported by Tsinghua University, Peking University and Nankai University, and co-hosted by Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Yunnan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Baoshan Municipal People's Government and New Technology Development Center of China Association for Science and Technology.
In accordance with the "1+10+X" mode, the three-day forum will organize an opening ceremony and keynote forum.

and promoted more than 100 investment projects, with a total investment of more than 62 billion yuan, covering key industrial fields such as digital economy, biomedicology, advanced equipment manufacturing, modern logistics, food and consumer goods processing and manufacturing.
