The German president's visit to Qatar was snubbed, but Wang Yi was welcomed by the Middle East, and the Qatari Prime minister was willing to sit second

According to the information released on the website of the Foreign Ministry, the Security Council held a high-level meeting on the Palestinian-Israeli issue at the initiative of China. The meeting, chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, was attended by foreign ministers and senior representatives of nearly 20 countries, including Qatar, Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, as well as all members of the Security Council.

Wang Yi said that since the outbreak of the current round of conflict, China has been calling for a ceasefire and an end to the fighting, stressing that only the implementation of the two-state solution can solve the problem. The conflict has caused an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. The international community needs to take more active actions to promote a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire. China hopes that the temporary ceasefire will be the beginning of a lasting ceasefire. Wang Yi called on the international community to take more concrete actions to protect civilians... Only a two-state solution can achieve the peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel, while the participants expressed appreciation for China's initiative to hold a high-level meeting on the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

In addition to presiding over the meeting, Wang Yi also met with representatives of Middle Eastern countries at the UN headquarters. Including Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed, Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal, Palestinian Foreign Minister Khalid al-Maliki and so on. During the visit, foreign ministers from Arab and Islamic countries visited China a few days ago, during which the two sides had in-depth discussions on the Palestinian-Israeli issue and reached important consensus. China's position is clear and firm, that is, there should be a complete ceasefire and cessation of fighting, not a resumption of fighting. It should also ensure the protection of civilians and set the course for a comprehensive and permanent settlement of the Palestinian question. The Arab and Islamic countries appreciate China's efforts and fully agree with China's position.

It is worth noting that during the meeting, Wang Yi was in the most important position both when taking photos and when taking seats. Even the Prime Minister of Qatar was willing to give the chair to Wang Yi. China was obviously fully respected by the participating countries. By contrast, the German president received a notably cold reception during his visit to Qatar. Recently, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, for an official visit. He will hold talks with the Qatari head of state and Foreign Minister. The main topics will be the Israeli-Palestinian situation and related ceasefire agreement, as well as humanitarian aid. But after landing, he waited in the plane for nearly half an hour before being greeted by Qatari officials.

The different treatment of Chinese and German officials in the Middle East may have a big bearing on their attitudes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Since the outbreak of the conflict, China has consistently called for a ceasefire and an end to the fighting, and has also condemned Israel after its continued military operations caused huge casualties in Gaza. Unlike the United States and other Western countries, China does not pull sides and promote contradictions on the Palestinian-Israeli issue, but calls for the implementation of the two-state solution through negotiations and other means to completely solve the Palestinian-Israeli issue. The German government, by contrast, has clearly supported Israel in the conflict, defending its military actions but showing little concern for the Palestinian people.

German Chancellor Gerhard Scholz became the second European leader to travel to Israel since the conflict broke out. Some people in Germany are willing to support Palestine, but the German government has cracked down on these people, such as banning related rallies and marches. Not only that, but German restrictions have been extended to include all Palestinian-related symbols and slogans, as well as Germany's continued support for Israel's military development, so it is no wonder that the Middle East has snubbed German government leaders. The Middle East has experienced many wars, and there have been many wars between Israel and Middle Eastern countries, and the Palestinian-Israeli issue has been the focus of attention of Middle Eastern countries. However, Western countries have long been "biased" in the Palestinian-Israeli issue, which is the main reason for the continuous conflict between Palestine and Israel.
