Blinken was still there when Israel resumed its military strikes, accusing Hamas of violating the cease-fire

Although the world knew that the "humanitarian pause" was only a temporary measure, and that Israel's nature was bound to tear up the agreement and go to war with Hamas again, the outcome seemed to come too early and so suddenly that even the United States did not expect it.

According to the Israeli "Haaretz" reported that on the morning of December 1, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement saying that more than an hour before the countdown beam of the truce, a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

The Israeli military then used this as an excuse to insist that Hamas had violated the ceasefire and responded with renewed attacks on Gaza.

Clearly there is no actual evidence of "violation of the ceasefire agreement" suspected, but the Wall Street Journal claims that they have Egyptian officials' internal information, saying that the reason why the "humanitarian pause" has not been extended is that when the two sides are negotiating a hostage exchange, "Hamas has not provided a list of hostages needed to extend the ceasefire."

From this perspective, there was no discussion at all, and the blame for the resumption of the war was directly placed on Hamas.

In reality, it does not matter whether the resumption of fighting is Hamas's fault or Israel's desire to commit the crime. What matters is that Gaza, which has been quiet for less than 10 days, is once again at war, and Palestinians who have just prepared to return to their homes must once again consider fleeing to safer areas.

Palestinian television reported that Israeli forces were carrying out air strikes in Gaza, while Al-Jazeera footage showed heavy explosions and gunfire, with grey smoke rising in some areas. It seems certain that the Israeli army has indeed resumed military operations in Gaza, including the previously declared "security zone" in the south, which is within the range of Israeli forces.

As mentioned earlier, the world knows that Israel will inevitably resume its offensive against Hamas, with more intensity and brutality, but there are many questions about why it has come so soon. The mystery was probably related to Blinken's fourth visit to Tel Aviv the day before.

On November 30, local time, Blinken, who visited Israel for the fourth time since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, just landed and launched a "marathon meeting" with Israeli senior officials.

At the press conference afterwards, although Blinken quite prominently said that the United States would continue to support Israel, the Israeli side was not so grateful.

On the same day, Israel's Channel 12 broke a fierce report that Blinken opened up a meeting with the war cabinet, "scolding" the Israeli government, demanding that the Israeli military operation in southern Gaza should not cause as many civilian casualties as in the north, and suggesting that Israel has only a few weeks to complete the "elimination of Hamas" plan. The implication is that Israel should "stop while it's good".

Blinken also mentioned the governance of Gaza after the war, and seemed intent on using the issue to put pressure on the Israeli leadership.

As a result, Netanyahu bluntly said that as long as he was prime minister of Israel, Gaza would not remain under Palestinian occupation...... In the end, the Israeli press summed up the meeting as "full of unusual confrontations."

Blinken first met with Israeli President Herzog on the same day, and then held a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yves Galant and former Defense Minister Yves Gantz war cabinet.

By rights, this kind of bilateral meeting should not be such an atmosphere.

What is even stranger is that the contents of this conversation, which could easily expose the rift between the United States and Israel, should be kept secret, but it was exposed most quickly by Channel 12, Israel's most popular channel.

Channel 12 not only reported on public television, but also used the term "full of accusations" to describe Blinken's speech at the conference.

It was clear that Israel was very unhappy with Blinken and even the Biden administration, so the resumption of the offensive was deliberately timed to precede Blinken's departure from Tel Aviv.

It can be reasonably guessed that the Israeli army opened fire one hour before the "humanitarian pause" countdown, obviously a deliberate arrangement, and then shortly after the Israeli army resumed the attack, Blinken sat on the C-17A transport plane and left alone, the Israeli army is to give Blinken embarrassment ah.

If the simplest way to sum up Blinken's visit to Israel is that the United States could not bear the pressure of public opinion, fearing that Israel's too tough handling of the situation in the Middle East would explode, Blinken sent to warn the Israeli leadership.

The result backfired, not only the Israeli cabinet did not appreciate it at all, but also the Israeli people were dissatisfied with the United States' attempt to suppress Israel, which led to the cynicism and incitement of Channel 12 media.

In fact, this point is very understandable, under the agitation and propaganda of right-wing elements, Israel can basically be said to be full of hatred for the Arabs, and in the past, it was able to exercise some restraint because of the safety of the hostages, but now the hostages in the hands of Hamas are fewer and fewer, Israeli officials and civilians are also acting more and more brazenly, and the fanatical atmosphere is like steam in a pressure cooker.

The U.S. government could not have known how Israel would react when all or most of the hostages were safely released, and Blinken tried a last-ditch effort that backfired and was targeted by the IDF.

For Mr Netanyahu's government, after initial shock and irritation and mid-term confusion, it now knows whether America is behind its actions in Gaza.

Netanyahu has been in the official field for decades, has already trained a man, this is not a quarrel quarrel absolutely in his expectation, so just as soon as he opened his mouth, the "imperial minister" Blinken gave back, the first resumption of the attack is also to the Biden government's "ultimatum" : in the end support not support, you choose.
