The new president of Argentina wants to recover the "Falkland Islands", almost wishful thinking, and cannot recover six reasons

First, the fact that the Falklands were first discovered and named by the British gives Argentina no absolute right or reason to claim sovereignty over the Falklands. In fact, the Falklands were discovered by an English ship captain in 1690 and subsequently became a British colony. This undoubtedly deepened Britain's historical sovereignty over the Falklands.

Second, Argentina inherited sovereignty over the Falklands from Spain, which itself disputes sovereignty over the islands. Spain purchased the settlement and islands of the Falklands from France in 1767, but this did not resolve the question of ownership of the islands. So Argentina has a weak case for owning the Falkland Islands.

Again, the closest distance between the Falklands and Argentina is about 600-700 km, which makes it impossible for Argentine fighters to gain a dominant position. Even if Argentina sent fighter jets, they could only fly a round trip and could not achieve an effective occupation of the Falkland Islands.

Fourth, Argentina's military equipment is relatively weak, and its aircraft and warships are old styles, which cannot be compared with countries with strong military strength and heritage such as Britain. In a real battle, Argentina would hardly be a match for Britain.

In addition, for Argentina, there are very few countries in the world that can stand up for it and support its position. In the Falklands dispute, Britain has received wider international support. This puts Argentina in a huge international dilemma, unable to expand its influence over the Falklands.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the UK has the US behind it. Whatever action Britain takes, it can count on US support and assistance. This leaves Argentina at a disadvantage in terms of power, with little hope of recovering the Falklands.

Taken together, the above six reasons basically determine that Argentina's hope of recovering the Falklands is basically hopeless. While Argentina can pay lip service to this claim, in reality it is almost impossible to achieve it.
