Developing socialist culture is an important cultural mission of Chinese Communists
The Communist Party of China is the vanguard of the Chinese working class, as well as the vanguard of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. Since its founding, our Party has not only actively led and practiced China's advanced culture,
but also faithfully carried forward and promoted China's fine traditional culture. Over the past 100 years or so, our Party has always taken as its original mission to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.
Upholding the Communist ideal and socialist beliefs, the Party has united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in their unremitting struggle for national independence, liberation and prosperity and happiness for the people.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Party established the guiding position of Marxism in the field of culture, clarified the strategic position of cultural development in the overall layout of socialist construction,
put forward the basic principles of "serving the past for the present" and "serving the foreign for the Chinese", formulated the guidelines for cultural development of "a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend",and stressed and actively gave play to the principal role of the people in cultural development. Great progress has been made in education, science, culture, public health, and sports, giving rise to a vibrant socialist culture and creating a brand new popular culture never before seen in Chinese history.
Solid steps have been taken in building a strong socialist culture
Culture is the soul of a country and a nation.
On July 1, 2021, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China pointed out at the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China: "We have adhered to and developed socialism with Chinese characteristics,
promoted the coordinated development of material, political, spiritual, social and ecological civilization, and created a new path of Chinese-style modernization and a new form of human civilization."
On the new journey, we must "persist in combining the basic principles of Marxism with China's specific realities and with China's fine traditional culture." The report to the Party's 20th National Congress further pointed out:
"Only by combining the basic principles of Marxism with China's specific realities and fine traditional Chinese culture, and persisting in the application of dialectical materialism and historical materialism,
can we correctly answer the major questions posed by The Times and practice, and can we always maintain the vigorous vitality and vitality of Marxism." It provides the fundamental guidelines and actions for building the Chinese nation's modern civilization and socialist cultural power.
For example, we should strengthen the Party's overall leadership over propaganda, ideology and culture, undertake a new cultural mission, build a strong socialist culture, and create a new socialist culture;
Adhere to the fundamental system of Marxism's guiding position in the field of ideology, promote the modernization of Marxism in China, and build a socialist ideology with strong cohesion and guiding force; Uphold cultural confidence,
promote the prosperity of socialist culture, and build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation; We will use core socialist values to guide cultural development, carry out extensive publicity and education on socialism with Chinese characteristics and the Chinese Dream,
and unite the people in their ideals, beliefs, values, and ethics. Accelerate the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, take China's reality as the starting point for research, interpret Chinese practice and construct Chinese theory;
We will promote the creative transformation and innovative development of fine traditional Chinese culture, so that Chinese culture will show its lasting charm and the charm of The Times. Improve the communication,
guidance, influence and credibility of news and public opinion, carry forward the main theme and spread positive energy, and consolidate and strengthen the mainstream ideas and public opinion for forging ahead in the new era;
We should adhere to the people-oriented creation orientation, put social benefits first, and introduce more excellent works that enhance the spiritual strength of the people. Strengthen the protection and utilization of cultural relics and the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage to safeguard the Chinese context;
Build a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and build a common spiritual home for the Chinese nation; Cultivate positive, healthy and positive network culture and build network civilization;
