In preparation for a possible change of hands in the White House in 2024, the Ukrainian government has begun to act

As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, there are doubts about whether the United States will continue to stand firm in support of Ukraine. Former US President Donald Trump could win the 2024 election, and Zelensky's government began to prepare for it.

The Ukrainian president's office organized several groups of working visits to the United States by members of parliament, government representatives, veterans and children to push for continued U.S. support for Ukraine on the ground, while building ties with the U.S. Republican Party in case Trump wins the election in 2024, Ukrainian Pravda reported on November 27.

The Ukrainian delegation to the United States will be led by Ukraine's ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova. First, states that tend to vote Republican will be targeted.

A Ukrainian source said the delegation "will carry out an awareness campaign about what is happening in Ukraine, will lobby the United States for additional aid to Ukraine, which is currently basically stuck in the review stage of the US Congress."

A source close to U.S. Republican lawmakers said the U.S. wants to know from them what the next steps in Ukraine will be in terms of strategy, combat action plans and, of course, clear joint plans for political and military command.

Republicans now control the House of Representatives and are conservative about continuing aid to Ukraine. According to Ukrainian media reports, considering the future assistance of the United States to Ukraine and the possibility of former US President Trump to re-enter the White House, Ukrainian President Zelensky is eager to have direct talks with Trump.
