The 1st International Trade Chain Sustainable Development Seminar and the 3rd China-Pakistan Livestock and Food Supply Chain Cooperation Seminar were successfully held in Beijing


On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-Pakistan strategic partnership in 2023, the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association and the government of Rio Grande do Sul of Brazil jointly hosted the "First International Trade Chain Sustainable Development Seminar and the third China-Pakistan Livestock and Food Supply Chain Cooperation Seminar" on the afternoon of November 27. The conference is hosted by the International Trade Chain Professional Committee of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association and Harbin Electric International Engineering Co., LTD.

Chaired by Duan Xiaohong, Secretary General of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association, the meeting brought together government officials, industry associations, and representatives of import and export enterprises from China and Brazil to deeply exchange the development and deployment of China-Brazil trade chain under the new situation, actively promote the innovation of international trade models, and study and evaluate the development trend and opportunity of the industry.

The meeting also invited experts from the General Administration of Customs to deeply interpret the regulatory policies of Chinese Customs on food and agricultural products, publicize the compliance requirements of imported and exported food and agricultural products, answer questions for the participants, and jointly promote the high-quality development of China-Pakistan trade. The seminar set up three negotiation rooms, and Chinese and Pakistani enterprises carried out in-depth docking exchanges in new energy, meat and agricultural products.

Wang Xin, president of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association, said in his speech that China is promoting high-quality development and high-level opening up, which will bring more opportunities to countries around the world, including Brazil, and the two sides should deepen practical cooperation, steadily advance existing major cooperation projects, and tap the cooperation potential in agriculture, energy, infrastructure construction, aerospace, scientific and technological innovation and other fields. We will explore ways to strengthen cooperation on green economy, digital economy and clean energy, and welcome more high-quality Brazilian products to enter the Chinese market.

Gabriel Vieira de Sousa, Deputy Governor of Rio Grande do Sul, congratulated the conference in his speech.

He introduced that Rio Grande do Sul is located in the southernmost part of Brazil, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Argentina to the west, and Uruguay to the south. It is the primary agricultural and herdage region in Brazil.

The production of soybeans, wheat and corn accounts for about half of the country, the rice accounts for a quarter, the wine accounts for three quarters, and the number of cattle and sheep ranks among the top of the states. Promote the export of agricultural and animal husbandry products to China.

Li Mo, deputy general manager of Harbin Electric International Engineering Co., LTD., said that with the opportunity of exchange at this conference, we will carry out further deepening cooperation and in-depth discussions with Brazil's Southwest Rio Grande State in new energy, water conservancy construction, bilateral trade and other related fields.

This cooperation event will also further enhance the international influence of Harbin electric brand and Harbin electric equipment, and lay a solid foundation for promoting the company's deepening reform and transformation.

Zhang Lin, deputy secretary-general of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association, pointed out that the China Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Association was established in 1990 with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

The purpose is to play the role of a link and bridge between the government and its members, promote the improvement of the quality of import and export commodities, and better serve the economic development of the country's opening to the outside world. The business is guided by the General Administration of Customs and the State Administration for Market Regulation.

At the same time, the conference invited experts from the International Inspection and Quarantine Standards and Technical Regulations Research Center of the General Administration of Customs to make a detailed interpretation of the access requirements and policies of the Chinese General Administration of Customs on overseas food production enterprises, so that the representatives of China and Pakistan can understand China's requirements and regulations on imported food safety.
